A small canvas, a good excuse to play

Not every visualisation needs a spreadsheet.

I first built this experiment in Tableau in January 2023, using parameters and dashboard actions to turn a data visualisation into a drawing tool. The original 8×8 lives on as Classic, alongside a more detailed 16×16 canvas — all running in your browser without Tableau.

Each canvas size keeps its own drawing in your browser. Save a sharp 1,024 × 1,024 PNG, or share a link that opens your exact artwork — 64 squares in Classic, 256 in Detail.

Explore my original Tableau Public builder. The first version also credited Ant Pulley's Paint Your Own Bob Ross experiment as inspiration.
