TODAY’S BLOCKBUSTER QUOTE
Jaws
“This was no boat accident.”
Matt Hooper · Richard Dreyfuss
Why today
29 October is Richard Dreyfuss’s birthday. In Jaws, Dreyfuss plays oceanographer Matt Hooper, one of the three men hunting Amity’s great white shark. BFI describes Spielberg’s 1975 thriller as a template for the modern summer blockbuster. Examining the first victim, Hooper rejects the official explanation: “This was no boat accident.”
The paperwork was not the main problem.
