Ski jumper. Rock star. Video-game salesman. Spy. Outlaw. Airport security officer.

Taron Egerton’s film choices can feel as though somebody has been spinning a genre wheel. But a fresh look at his IMDb ratings reveals a surprisingly tidy pattern: the films based on real people are his strongest top-billed lane.

Kingsman still sets the ceiling

First, the career shape. Among 14 released films with at least 1,000 IMDb votes, Kingsman: The Secret Service remains the high point at 7.7.

That breakout has never quite been topped. Yet three later films sit in a tight group just behind it: Eddie the Eagle at 7.3, Rocketman at 7.3 and Tetris at 7.4.

Those three have more in common than their ratings.

Real lives are his strongest lane

Six films do not make a universal rule. They do make a clean, reproducible pattern in this snapshot: audiences have rated Egerton’s real-life characters more consistently than his action leads.

Two sequels. Opposite directions.

His two eligible franchises add a neat final twist.

The second Kingsman falls by 1.0 IMDb point; Sing 2 rises by 0.2.

Kingsman drops from 7.7 to 6.7. Sing moves the other way, from 7.1 to 7.3.

That is only two films in each series, so it is a pair of comparisons rather than a franchise trend. Still, it underlines the wider point: the famous spy breakthrough set a high bar, but the most dependable ratings have arrived when Egerton plays somebody who actually lived.
